Design is what I live doing, not just what I do for a living.
Ever since I was a little kid, I dreamed of creating useful artifacts for the world like a serial inventor. Finally, after years of study and design consultant experience, Devellen is my opportunity to create meaningful designs with positive impacts. It is immensely exciting to collaborate with visionary partners and my team to constantly learn new perspectives and do great work!
With a background in biochem engineering at UBC and Industrial Design at the world-renowned ArtCenter College of Design, I had the chance to understand what the bar is for outstanding design concept, process, and execution. It is also the type of attitude towards work that I would like to share with young designers.
I used to think design is simply “form follows function”, and my purpose as an industrial designer is to create whatever my clients requested under the narrowly defined spec. However, having worked on various highly-functional product designs that made the world a worse place in the grand scheme, I realized that those projects were not time well-spent, and it is not what I desire to do for a living.
That’s why at Devellen, we are a team of passionate designers who love working on designs that make the world a better place because we believe that good design should contribute to positive changes for better human experience, society, and the environment.

I would chose the genre "Synthwave" because it's a genre known for its nostalgic and futuristic blend of electronic music, often evoking the feeling of the 1980s. It's characterized by synthesizers, pulsating beats, and a retro-futuristic aesthetic, which creates a captivating and immersive experience that I would like to share with people.
